These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CookCredit LLC ("CookCredit," "we," "us"), 683 Grant St SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30315. They govern your use of the CookCredit camera-based knife-skill experience and its optional private assessment library (together, "CookCredit Skill" or the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please read Sections 3, 11, 12, and 14 carefully. They address knife safety, warranty and liability limits, and an agreement to resolve most disputes through individual arbitration. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days as explained in Section 14.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. CookCredit Skill is not offered to minors. If we learn that a minor used the Service, we may restrict access and delete the associated CookCredit Skill data.
CookCredit Skill uses camera frames processed in your browser to estimate knife-hand movement, detect chopping strokes, and produce practice feedback. You may save a recording to your device or, after signing in and making a separate choice, upload a private copy to your account.
The Service is a practice and educational tool. It is not a culinary certification, employment screening service, food-safety inspection, medical device, or emergency service.
Using a knife can cause serious injury. Use a stable cutting surface, keep people and animals away from the work area, use equipment appropriate for you, and stop immediately if the setup or instructions feel unsafe. The Service cannot inspect or control your surroundings.
To the extent permitted by law, you knowingly accept the ordinary risks of handling a knife and remain responsible for deciding whether and how to perform any movement. Nothing in these Terms waives rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Scores, grades, detected strokes, cadence, technique observations, and replay markers are automated estimates based on what the browser could measure during one session. They may be incomplete or wrong and may change as CookCredit improves the scoring method.
No result is a professional certification, guarantee of competence, food-safety clearance, employment recommendation, or promise of any outcome. Do not use a CookCredit Skill result as the sole basis for an employment, safety, credit, insurance, housing, or other high-impact decision.
An account is optional. If you sign in, you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email or Google account secure. A completed session is not uploaded automatically. It appears in My assessments only if you select Keep privately and confirm the upload.
Private assessment recordings and linked result data are automatically scheduled for deletion no later than 90 days after upload. You may download or delete individual assessments sooner, export your CookCredit Skill data, or delete all CookCredit Skill data from My assessments. Deleting CookCredit Skill data does not by itself delete a shared CookCredit sign-in used by another CookCredit product. Email connectwithus@cookcredit.com for a company-wide account request.

We may restrict access or remove content when reasonably necessary to protect users, CookCredit, or the Service.
You retain ownership of recordings and information you submit. When you choose to upload content, you give CookCredit a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, secure, and process it only as needed to provide the private library, generate the requested assessment, prevent abuse, comply with law, and honor your export or deletion request.
CookCredit does not use private CookCredit Skill uploads to train AI or robotics models under these Terms. A future research or model-training program would require a separate, clear opt-in and updated notice before that use begins.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for content you upload, including permission from any other identifiable person in the recording.
The Service uses Google Cloud and Firebase for hosting, authentication, private storage, server functions, abuse protection, and operational logging. Browser-based hand and presence detection use MediaPipe models. Those providers may process technical information as described in our Privacy Policy and their applicable terms.
The Service, software, models, designs, and CookCredit names and marks belong to CookCredit or its licensors. We give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended personal purpose. If you send suggestions, CookCredit may use them without payment or restriction, but will not treat private recordings as feedback.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service for security, legal, operational, or business reasons. When reasonably possible, we will provide notice of a material discontinuation that affects stored user content.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL SCORES AND FEEDBACK ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." COOKCREDIT DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR ACCURATE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS, SO THESE LIMITS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COOKCREDIT AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE.
EXCEPT FOR LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED, COOKCREDIT'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US$100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID COOKCREDIT FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
These limitations do not exclude liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or other liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify CookCredit against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from content you unlawfully upload, your material violation of these Terms, or your intentional misuse of the Service. This section does not require you to indemnify CookCredit for CookCredit's own negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of law.
Before filing a claim, the complaining party must send a written description of the dispute and requested relief to connectwithus@cookcredit.com. The parties will try in good faith to resolve the dispute for 30 days. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief when delay would cause irreparable harm.
Except for the exceptions below and where prohibited by law, you and CookCredit agree that a dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this arbitration agreement. The arbitration may occur by telephone, video, documents, or in person as the AAA rules permit. CookCredit will pay arbitration fees to the extent required by the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules.
You and CookCredit waive a jury trial and agree not to bring covered claims as a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party seeking it and only to the extent needed to resolve that party's claim.
Either party may bring an eligible individual claim in small-claims court. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for misuse of intellectual property or unauthorized system access. Nothing in this section limits non-waivable statutory rights or remedies.
You may opt out of arbitration by emailing connectwithus@cookcredit.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Use the subject Arbitration opt-out and include your name, the email associated with your account if any, and a clear statement that you opt out. Opting out does not change the governing-law or court-venue provisions below.
Georgia law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the arbitration agreement. For a dispute that is not arbitrated, you and CookCredit consent to the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia. Mandatory consumer protections of your home jurisdiction remain available where they cannot be waived.
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated date and provide reasonable notice before a material change applies. A change to Section 14 will not apply to a dispute of which CookCredit had actual notice before the change. Continued use after the effective date of an update means you accept the updated Terms.
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; CookCredit may transfer them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the Service.
