CookCredit Skill Biometric Notice and Written Release

This notice is provided by CookCredit LLC, 683 Grant St SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30315. It describes CookCredit Skill's camera-based measurement of hand movement. CookCredit treats the information described below as biometric information for protection and consent purposes even where a particular law might define it differently.

1. What CookCredit measures

When you start a camera assessment, software in your browser estimates the position and movement of points on your wrist and hand. It derives motion trajectories, estimated knife or blade path, stroke timing, cadence, rhythm, consistency, form, score, and feedback from those measurements.

Assessment mode may also use an on-device face-presence check before the countdown. That check only determines whether a face is visible. It does not identify you, compare your face with a database, create a faceprint, or store a face template.

CookCredit does not use hand measurements to recognize, authenticate, or determine your identity. We do not collect a fingerprint, voiceprint, retina scan, iris scan, or DNA through CookCredit Skill.

2. Specific purpose

CookCredit measures hand movement only to:

1. operate the camera assessment;
2. detect chopping strokes and calculate practice measurements;
3. produce the score, replay markers, and feedback you request;
4. save the recording and linked assessment in your private library if you separately request

cloud storage; and

1. protect the Service against manipulation, fraud, and unauthorized access.

CookCredit does not use private CookCredit Skill recordings or linked hand-motion data for AI or robotics model training under this notice. A future research or training program would require a separate, affirmative opt-in and a new notice before collection or use for that purpose.

3. How long it is kept

If you do not choose private cloud storage, the recording and motion analysis remain on your device for the active page/session and are removed when you delete the recording from the page or the browser releases the session.

If you sign in and separately choose Keep privately, CookCredit stores the recording, assessment data, and linked consent receipt for no longer than 90 days after upload. The scheduled deletion may occur sooner if you delete the assessment, delete all CookCredit Skill data, or withdraw consent and request deletion. A temporary account-export ZIP is deleted after 24 hours.

This 90-day maximum is CookCredit's operational retention period and is shorter than the three-year outside limit described in the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. Read the public Biometric Data Retention and Destruction Schedule.

4. Storage and disclosure

No cloud upload occurs merely because you run an assessment. If you request private storage, Google Cloud and Firebase process the recording and related information for CookCredit. Only the signed-in owner can read the private recording through the product. CookCredit may disclose the information when you direct us, to service providers that operate the Service under appropriate restrictions, or when required by a valid law, warrant, subpoena, or court order.

CookCredit does not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric identifiers or biometric information.

5. Security

CookCredit uses HTTPS, owner-scoped access controls, server-authorized uploads, file and metadata validation, App Check, request limits, and scheduled destruction. We protect covered hand-motion information using safeguards at least as protective as those used for other confidential and sensitive information.

6. Your choice and withdrawal

Consent is voluntary, but CookCredit cannot provide the camera assessment without permission to measure hand movement. You can decline and not start the assessment. Cloud storage is a separate, optional choice made after the assessment.

You may withdraw consent and request deletion by deleting an individual assessment, using Delete my Skill data, or emailing connectwithus@cookcredit.com. Withdrawal stops future collection and use but does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.

7. Adults only

You must be at least 18 years old to use CookCredit Skill or sign this release. CookCredit does not knowingly collect this information from a minor through CookCredit Skill.

8. Written release and electronic signature

Before camera measurement begins, the assessment presents a separate checkbox that is off by default, an age confirmation, and links to this notice. The displayed consent text is:

I consent to CookCredit measuring the movement of my knife hand on this device to produce practice feedback. CookCredit does not use this data to identify me. If I later choose Keep privately, my recording and assessment will be stored for up to 90 days. Cloud storage is optional and requires a separate choice after recording.

By checking that box, confirming that you are 18 or older, and starting the assessment, you:

• acknowledge that you read and understood what is measured, the specific purposes, and the

retention period;

• voluntarily authorize CookCredit to collect and use the hand-motion information for those

purposes; and

• intend your affirmative action to serve as your written release and electronic signature.

For an optional private upload, CookCredit records the notice version, a cryptographic hash of the displayed text, your affirmations, and the timestamp with the private assessment record.
